Padrig Sicard is a renowned
collector and musicologist in his native Brittany, as well as a performer
on fiddle, bombarde, viola, binou (hi pitched Breton pipes) and whistle.
He has published several volumes, and performed on and produced many CDs (including the group Kurun featuring Yann Cariou!) Padrig's books include 2 volumes of Breton dance tunes - "Airs a Danser" vol 1 & 2. Published by editions Alain Pennec, they contain hundreds of Gavottes, Larides, An Dros, Dances Ficel and Polkas. (French and English text) Padrig has also published books on Breton Visual Art History, and his photographs grace several publications by Breton museums. In "La Musique Celtique", Padrig looks at the history, instruments and performers from the Celtic nations in a beautifully photographed presentation.
